"Evolve & Stay Involved” was installed during the summer of 2020. Inspired by the amazing strength of the Black Lives Matter movement and many other organizations, Sawftsea felt compelled to show support as a community in the fight against police brutality and all racially motivated violence.
Local business owner Brandon Sayen contributed the wall of his downtown business LoyalTees Custom Apparel as the location. Local artist Lindsey Naylor provided the hand-painted lettering, time, and skills. The materials were donated to produce a welcoming public piece of art for all to view.
"In the making of the mural, I coordinated with local adult and youth volunteers, collaborating with local experts of Native American culture to include native astrology, plant species, and syllabics within the mural. This project was very hands-on by many members of our community." - Sawftsea
