After working on photo projects that involved lots of travel, she wanted to focus on one small area of the Upper Peninsula. Colleen is a nature photographer and painter whose love for the outdoors shines through all of her work. Her connection with the environment shows through her artwork as she photographs the intricate details of nature and the astonishing macro beauty of Lake Superior. She displays her work on canvas, metal, and wood.
Colleen is out every day either hiking, kayaking, or snowshoeing, and always brings her camera along for the adventure. She wants to show people what she sees, all of the fascinating details of life and nature. She is an avid lover of travel and is fluent in French. After teaching art and French for 30 years at the high school level, she recently retired and is enjoying devoting her time to her passions: hiking and art.
This exhibit will be on display through July in the Marquette Arts & Culture Center’s Studio #1, located in the Lower Level of Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front St.
