Senior Arts: Van Gogh-Inspired Impressionism Poinsettias

Senior Visual Arts classes are held each month at the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library. In addition to November’s Holiday Ribbon Tree classes, we’re excited to offer an additional class, Van Gogh-Inspired Impressionism Poinsettias, taught by Colleen Maki!

Students will learn about the history of the Impressionism art movement, the work of Vincent van Gogh, and use his style to create a poinsettia in oil pastels.

This class will take place on Wednesday, November 29 from 1:00pm-4:00pm. NOTE: This is a three-hour class!

Senior Arts classes are free to City of Marquette, Chocolay Township, Powell Township, and Marquette Township residents ages 55+. Non-residents are welcome to attend for a small donation of $5 per class to help cover the cost of supplies.

NOTE: Classes tend to fill up quickly. In the event that a class is at capacity, we encourage you to join a wait list; we’ll get in touch prior to the class if any spots open up.
