Senior Arts: Georgia O'Keeffe Oil Pastels

Senior Visual Arts classes are held each month at the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library.

April’s classes will feature Georgia O’Keeffe Oil Pastels, taught by Colleen Maki!

Students will learn a bit of history about Georgia O’Keeffe and create an oil pastel using her techniques. We’ll be using oil pastels combined with baby oil; be prepared to get a little messy! O’Keeffe’s work would monumentalize very small objects in nature. She is considered to be one of America’s top artists.

Class will take place Wednesdays, April 10 and 17 from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Senior Arts classes are free to City of Marquette, Chocolay Township, Powell Township, and Marquette Township residents ages 55+. Non-residents are welcome to attend for a small donation of $5 per class to help cover the cost of supplies.
