Senior Arts: Field Drawing w/ Amelia Pruiett

Senior Visual Arts classes are typically offered on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library. NOTE: This is a special topic class, separate from the standard monthly classes. The class will be held at the Presque Isle Pavilion.

This special topic class will feature field drawing, taught by Amelia Pruiett!

This class will teach the basic tools of Field Drawing. Participants will learn a basic history of observational sketching and how field drawing has contributed to both Art and Science over time and remains relevant in professional and personal practice today. This class is designed for all levels, whether you are an artist who’d like to explore the natural world or an outdoors adventurer who wants to better record your experiences, all will enjoy an afternoon of putting pencil to paper and appreciating our natural surroundings. *Part of this class will be outdoors, please dress comfortably for the temperature.

These classes are free to City of Marquette, Chocolay Township, Powell Township, and Marquette Township residents ages 55+. Non-residents are welcome to attend for a small donation of $5 per class to help cover the cost of supplies.
