Marquette Trail 50

The Marquette Trail 50 consists of a 50-kilometer and 50-mile event.  To add another challenge, a 100-kilometer event was added in 2015. The 100K has a special application process, as racers need to prove their skills and talents.

The course is mostly single-track, climbing the 4 peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback.  All the peaks have views of Lake Superior, and portions of the course skirt its shoreline.  Much of the trail consists of moderate to difficult terrain, with significant climbs and technical areas.

For those not ready to solo ultra, the race offers a 50k relay, following the same 50k course.  Also, a shorter 11 mile race was added in 2017.  This is a perfect introductory event to trail running, combining very scenic runnable trails and more technical areas.

On Friday evening, we host a 5K and 1M kids trail run.  These races can be done as a family and include a t-shirt and post race snack.
