The Ishpeming Blue Notes reunion party will be held on Sunday, July 2 at the Ishpeming VFW Club (310 Bank St., Ishpeming) beginning at 7PM.
All past and present members of the Blue Notes organization are invited to attend.
SCHEDULE
SUNDAY, JULY 2
Noon: Hall decorating at the VFW for the Reunion Party. Everyone wanting to display their memorabilia is asked to bring it to the VFW for Noon.
2PM: Alumni and current members gather at Ishpeming playgrounds for “just-for-fun” march across the football field. Participate, or watch from the stands. The public is invited to cheer on “Big Blue.”
2:45PM: Full Corps rehearsal for annual “Old Ish” concert scheduled for July 3. This will also be held at the Ishpeming Playgrounds.
7PM: 60th Anniversary Reunion Party at the VFW. $10/person at the door. Dinner and cash bar.
Midnight: Party clean-up. Volunteers welcome!
MONDAY, JULY 3
6:30PM: Meet at the top of Main Street hill to organize and warm up for nostalgic march down the hill for annual “Old Ish” concert. Alumni group will march behind Corps. If you’re unable to march, meet at the bottom of the hill. All participants should wear 60th Anniversary shirts. Alumni can order shirts by contacting Globe Printing at (906)485-1033 by June 26th. Current members and staff will be provided a shirt by the Corps. Cost for Alumni is $15/shirt if picked up from globe, $25/shirt if you would like it mailed to you.
7:30PM: “Old Ish” concert. This year’s concert will be dedicated to the memory of Steve Fernea, long-time and beloved snare drummer in junior and senior Corps.
TUESDAY, JULY 4
9:30AM: Annual Fourth of July Parade. Alumni/current members meet at Michigan Street between 2nd & 3rd to organize/warm up for the parade. Corps members please wear full uniform. Alumni, please wear 60th Anniversary shirts. Alumni may march or ride behind the Corps (please arrange for your own vehicle).
10:30AM: Parade start.
