DocuMonday--Country: Portraits of an American Sound

DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2015 documentary Country:  Portraits of an American Sound on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.

With Independence Day coming up, what better way to celebrate than viewing a film on country music, a uniquely American art form.  In Country:  Portraits of an American Sound, director Steven Kochones explores the 80-year history of this musical genre, examining the culture of both the music and the musicians through the photographic lens.  Over a dozen country artists including Roseanne Cash, Merle Haggard and Keith Urban are featured with commentary from the men and women who photographed them.  The film runs for 1 hour 28 minutes.
