Chocolay Bayou Paddle and Picnic

We’ll be hanging out at the Chocolay Township Marina from 2-7 with a few activities going on! We’ll be selling tickets at the entrance to the marina–$15/individual and $20/family gets you everything below that doesn’t have an additional price next to it.

–Rent-able SUP, Kayak, and Canoes all day ($10/hour per boat, PFD and paddles included)
–Kids activities available all day (scavenger hunt, coloring sheets, water games, etc.)
–Live acoustic music throughout the day
–lawn games available all day (bag toss, etc.)
–Guided plant and history hike 2pm
–Guided paddle-and-hike 4 pm
–Adult/child team paddle “race” from the Marina to the Bayou dock and back, with prizes! $15/team, on-site registration. Race starts at 3!
–potluck cookout and acoustic music at 5:30

Bring your own boat (PFD required!) and lawn games if you have them, rent a boat and use our games if you don’t!

This is a fundraiser–we need to raise $20,000 in the next 4 years to ensure the long-term needs of the Chocolay Bayou Nature Preserve will be met! These are the really exciting things like paying for insurance, putting on events and running environmental education programs, completing and maintaining the boardwalk, signs, and parking lot, removing invasive species, planting native ones….you get it! Extra donations outside of the ticket price and special activities are encouraged 🙂

Donate $100 or more at the event and we’ll dedicate a section of the boardwalk to the name of your choice! Can’t make it but want to support the preserve? Give us a call!
