Birds, insects, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles have a distinctive style of nest building that incorporates using organic materials in their immediate environment, the most common material being plant matter. Nest building reinforces social behavior, allowing for larger populations in small spaces to increase the carrying capacity of an environment.
