Bill Irving is an artist using a variety of mixed media types, including water color, acrylics, pastel drawings, air brush, and computer art. He received two years of training in graphic design at University of Illinois – Champaign Urbana, but left there to join the Air Force in 1965. Upon leaving the military he worked various jobs of technical illustration. He worked as a manufacturing engineer producing work station drawings and instructions for the assembly line.

These drawings were derived from three dimensional computer models. He has traveled extensively spending a year hitchhiking around Europe in the 70’s. He was stationed in Turkey and Taiwan and traveled through Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and England. He spent three months in Denmark. Today his art includes paintings of contemporary military veterans, large pastel paintings of nature, and paintings drawn from Bible subjects.
Irving’s work will be on display from October 30 – November 19 at Wintergreen Hill Gallery & Gifts, 810 N Third St. in Marquette.
