ART WEEK Family Square Dance with The Feltliners & Friends

ART WEEK Family Square Dance with The Feltliners & Friends

Presented by City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center at Hurley Park

Bring the family down to Hurley Field and learn how to square dance while listening to traditional music from historic times, performed by a live 5-piece band featuring local musicians including Janis Peterson and Dave Bett from the Marquette-based Feltliners band, with calling by Jo Foley. No experience necessary!

The Feltliners and Jo Foley have been collaborating on square dances for decades! They were the featured band several times for the Hiawatha Festival Friday Night Dance and have performed around the Upper Peninsula. Jo Foley is a master at making it EASY to learn square dancing and can even teach children ‘as long as they know their left from their right.’ All are invited to attend whether they participate in the dance or just enjoy the music and watch the dancers’ endless smiles.
