Marquette Area Veterans Memorial

The Marquette Veterans Memorial in Harlow Park remembers veterans tied to the Marquette area regardless of military era or branch of service. Over 1,800 veterans are honored with their names inscribed on paving bricks leading up to the central globe etching. This represents the worldly impact each of their lives have had through their service and encourages present visitors to reflect upon the past and the sacrifices made to keep our country free.

“The Marquette Veterans Memorial is a symbol of the gratitude of the citizens of the Marquette, Michigan, area for the veterans and members of the Armed Forces of the United States. The valiant sacrifices of these veterans established and preserved democracy in the United States and defeated tyranny abroad. Their service during peace and war has made possible the freedoms and prosperity Americans enjoy and extended democratic values throughout the world. The Memorial beautifully expresses appreciation for their sacrifices.” – excerpt from a March 2021 Press Release
