The C. Fred Rydholm Gathering Hall on the first floor of the Marquette Regional History Center is available for rent for wedding receptions, parties or community events.

2024 Rental Policy

• Rental fee is $2,100 for use of the space on the agreed date. $2,500 with *Friday before
set up from 10am-5pm* An additional $300 security deposit is also required. This $300 will
be returned should there be no damage or excessive cleaning required as the result of your
event. The security deposit should be in a separate check if possible.

• Set-up/decorate start time is 10:00am on the scheduled date.

• Event start time will be 4:30pm or later on the scheduled date.

• Event end time will be 11:00pm or earlier on the scheduled date.

• You will have up to 90 minutes to clean-up/tear-down/remove your belongings. This time
will begin at the designated end time which will be declared upon signing your contract.

• For an additional $175 you may set-up/decorate starting at 8:30am on the
scheduled date.

• You may use the green space on the scheduled date at no charge.

• There is an additional insured policy that is required with use of this space.

• Flame candles are not permitted. You may use flameless candles.

Answers to some frequently asked questions….

• The History Center does not own tables. You may rent them and have them delivered as early
as one day in advance of the scheduled event date. The tables will be stored in the service area
prior to your scheduled event date and after the event is done should you leave them for a
scheduled pick-up date. This should be coordinated no later than 2 weeks prior to the scheduled
date.

• Your rental fee includes the use of 200 chairs. The chairs cannot be removed from the building
and cannot be used outside in the green space area.

• Use of the MRHC kitchen is included in the rental fee. The MRHC kitchen is not a health
department approved kitchen. All food preparations should take place elsewhere. It may be used for
final preparations by your caterer.

• You may have the bridal party enter through the Third Street ramp entrance to make a “grand
entrance” for your guests. This should be coordinated no later than 2 weeks prior to the scheduled
date. The door will remain locked once the bridal party enters.

• You may use the Conference Room as a staging area for the bridal party with no additional fee.
This should be coordinated no later than 2 weeks prior to the scheduled date.

• The dome lights will be turned on for your event at no additional fee. However, please note that
due to extended sunlight hours during the summer months, it is not very bright until sundown which
can be as late as 10:30pm.

• You may not use nails, tape, staples, glue to hang decorations in the Rydholm Gathering Hall.

• Clean-up includes stacking chairs (in stacks of 10), moving tables to the service area or removing
them and removing your belongings (decorations, food items, gifts, etc). The “hard cleaning”
(sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, etc) will be done by the MRHC.

• There will be an MRHC staff person in the building during the duration of your event. This person
is responsible to lock down the building once your event is done. This person will also assist with
an emergency situation.

• The lighting in the gathering hall does not have a dimmer switch. To create ambience, you can
have certain banks of lights turned off during your event.

• The benches in the Gathering Hall may be left for you to use as additional seating or we can
have them removed for your scheduled event. This should be coordinated no later than 2 weeks
prior to the scheduled date.

• The space can hold up to 180 people at round tables. There have been events with seating for
200 at rectangular or cafeteria style seating. Capacity of the space with standing and seated guests
is 250 people.

• You may have additional tables in the upper dome area with no additional cost.
