Artist: Dale Wedig

Wedig designed these three sculptural forms with as much consideration for the shapes created by the negative space between them as the physical structures themselves. He chose the palette of red, green, and silver for its relationship to the work’s original site near NMU’s Cohodas building versus its new home in front of the School of Art & Design. At its previous location, these hues complemented the dark brown brick and subtly moving plant life surrounding it. Three Sentinels still interacts with its surroundings, though it now embraces more lively motion from passing people and vehicles.
