Looking for a space for your next meeting, workshop, or special event, or just wish to have more room to practice your creativity?
The City of Marquette Office of Arts & Culture encourages you to make use of our rentable studio spaces! 

STUDIO AMENITIES

All listed room resources are included with the studio rental to maximize your creative potential and productivity.

Contact us prior to your reservation to request specific room setups and resources.

Studio #1
Large Workshop/Reception Room

Studio #1 is a large, open-space workshop with windows that let in plenty of natural light, a tall ceiling, a track hanging system for artwork and other displays, and direct sink and counter access. This room is great for a variety of uses, including workshops, demonstrations, meetings, lectures, photo shoots, pop-up exhibitions and receptions, and is especially ideal for hands-on art classes.

Studio #2
Medium Workshop/Meeting Space

Studio #2 is located adjacent to Studio #1, with separate entry off of the Deo Gallery. This room features a built-in, ceiling-mounted projector with a wide range of connectivity options, and is ideal for meetings, sharing websites, videos, or films, PowerPoint presentations, and virtual meetings.

Other Meeting rooms are available within the walls of Peter White Public Library.

Peter White Public Library has six rooms available for use by the community. These rooms are divided into three categories: Conference Rooms, Meeting Rooms, and the Community Room. Rooms can be reserved 6-months prior to the event.

Rate Schedule

Nonprofit organizations may use the Arts Center studio space for free once a month. 

In addition, fees for reservations for arts and culture activities that are free and open to the public are also waived.

For events and other activities that charge a fee to participants:

If applicable, rental fees may be paid at the Office of Arts & Culture office before, during, or immediately following workshop use. Invoices may be administered upon request. Cash and check both accepted; checks should be made out to “City of Marquette.”

Reservation Process

Our studios are filled on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to arts and cultural activities. 

If you are interested in scheduling a space for your next event or meeting, please contact the Office of Arts & Culture as soon as possible to ensure availability.

When requesting space, please include the following information:

Once approved, the reservation will be secured on our schedule. Please let staff know of any changes or cancelations to avoid conflicts with other groups who may wish to use the space.

Room Use Guidelines

Room Setup:

Arts & Culture staff will assist with room setup as a courtesy, schedule permitting, though please be sure to block off time for any additional setup with your reservation. Additional chairs and tables may be set up as needed, but please first check that other groups aren’t going to need them.

Reservation Timing and Library Building Hour Concordance:

All reservations must adhere to Peter White Public Library’s building hours. Entry is not permitted before the PWPL doors open, and staying past closing time is prohibited.

Peter White Public Library Building Hours (as of February 2022):
Monday-Thursday: 9:30am-8:30pm
Friday: 9:30am-5:30pm
Saturday: 9:30am-4:30pm
Sunday: CLOSED

Room Clean-Up:

We politely ask that any user of our space leaves the room just as they found it. Please respect our space and future reservations by cleaning up after your rental. This includes sweeping and/or picking up loose pieces of trash, wiping tables, disposing of trash, and returning borrowed materials to their appropriate place. Cleaning products can be found underneath the sink in Studio #1. Failure to clean the space after use will result in being charged full, standard rental fees.

Promotion

All users of the Arts & Culture Center studio space MUST list their event on the Marquette Compass community calendar as a way to broadcast the event and organization in one central location. 

Arts & Culture staff is happy to work with you to get an account set up and start posting on behalf of your organization.
