Maritime museum is bringing in a major Coast Guard cutter during Harbor Fest
The maritime museum works hard to educate the public about the Great Lakes maritime world. Sometimes we do it by arranging “Tall Ships” visits as we were able to last summer in conjunction with the Marquette Rotary Harbor Fest.
This year we able to coordinate the visit of a major Coast Guard cutter during Harbor Fest. As real world missions can interfere with the cutter’s participation we can’t provide a name yet…but will as soon as possible.
The Coast Guard performs a number of vital missions on the Great Lakes including ice breaking, search and rescue and environmental response. This visit will be a great opportunity for the public to learn more about this very special group of men and women. The cutter will be open for tours.
Combining the cutter visit with Harbor Fest makes two great events even better
