Marquette Maritime Museum’s Maritime History on Tap lecture series presents Bruce Lynn, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, on March 7, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Ore Dock Brewing Company.
“The Shipwreck Coast's Lost Whalebacks: The Story of Barge 129 and Sagamore” with Bruce Lynn is the history of the whaleback barge and the story of two whalebacks, Barge 129 (sank October 1902) and Sagamore (sank July 1901). The lecture includes the history of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Whitefish Point and operations of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society and their underwater research vessel, R.V.
