Iron Ore Heritage Bike Tour

Presented by Michigan Iron Industry Museum at Michigan Iron Industry Museum

Participants will start a the Michigan Iron Industry Museum and take a leisurely guided bike tour on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. There will be several stops along the way with interpretation of historic sites, including the Jackson Mine and Old Town Negaunee.
The total distance of the tour is approximately 15 miles (from the museum to Ishpeming and back).
The terrain is a mix of hills and flat patches. The route will be roughly Trailhead #7 to Trailhead #4 and returning to Trailhead #7.

Approximately 1/4 of the trail is hard packed with crushed granite and 3/4 is paved asphalt, - mountain bikes or bikes with wider tires are recommended.
Lunch will be provided by Midtown Bakery and Café in Negaunee on the return trip.
The tours will start at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately 5+ hours (including lunch).
Each tour has a limited number of participants.

Admission Info

Reservations are REQUIRED. A $25.00 per participant fee is required the day of the event (includes lunch, handouts, and tour)
Accepted forms of payment include cash, card, and checks made out to "The Michigan Iron Industry Museum"
