Lost and Found: The Henry B. Smith
Presented by Daniel Fountain, author and local historian
The “White Hurricane” storm of November, 1913 was the worst weather event ever to hit the Great Lakes. More than 250 sailors died, and a dozen ships vanished, sinking with their entire crews. During a lull in the storm, the big steel freighter Henry B. Smith set sail from Marquette, never to be seen again for a hundred years
