RESCHEDULED - ART WEEK Michael Waite and Friends: "We've Always Been at Home"

Local singer/songwriter Michael Waite presents We’ve Always Been at Home, our Art Week Closing Concert as we bid farewell to another bright and vibrant Week. Waite will perform music from We’ve Always Been at Home, his new album that has been unfolding for nearly a decade. The album represents the contributions of dozens of Marquette’s professional musicians and scores of area high school string players who helped create productions of songs Waite wrote while building his off-grid house in northern Marquette County. Waite will be joined on stage by some of these featured musicians, including Kerry Yost, Stephanie Whiton, Mike Bjella, and a string quartet featuring Harry South, Adam Hall, Janis Peterson, Danielle Simandl, and Ria Hodgson.

The closing concert will also feature the reading of our Art Week closing poem, written and performed by Janeen Rastall, as well as readings about and other acknowledgements of the area’s Indigenous history and importance.
