Local plein air painter and NMU Professor of Illustration Steve Hughes will demonstrate plein air techniques and capture the ever-changing evening light and waves crashing against the breakwall.
As a part of the celebration Lake Superior Art Association’s 70th Anniversary, this demonstration will give a preview to the LSAA-supported Fresh Coast Plein Air Festival (June 25th). Local plein air painter from Northern Michigan University, Professor of Illustration Steve Hughes, will be demonstrating plein air techniques and capturing the ever-changing evening light and waves crashing against the breakwall. The demonstration will take place in the Presque Isle Gazebo, the construction of which was funded by LSAA and gifted to the City in 1985 in honor of Anita Meyland, the founder of Art on the Rocks in 1959.
