ART WEEK What Water Wants to Be

ART WEEK What Water Wants to Be

Presented by City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center and Superior Watershed Partnership and Ore Dock Brewing Company at Ore Dock Brewing Company

Water is our community’s most precious and beloved resource, as well as the lifeblood of the brewing process. It is Ore Dock Brewing Company’s mission to not only honor that resource, but to communicate its vitality with customers and the community.

As part of Art Week, Ore Dock is teaming up with the Superior Watershed Partnership to host an event that is centered on water, featuring: a community panel with representatives from Trout Unlimited, Northern Michigan University, and the Superior Watershed Partnership; live music by singer/songwriter and activist Seth Bernard of Earthworks Music and the Clean Water Campaign for Michigan; a pop-up art show featuring work by local and Great Lakes-based artists (this exhibit is open to community submissions, click here for more info on how to submit a piece!); and brewery tours.

The programming will be an inclusive and artistic immersion into the ethereal AND tangible aspects of Earth’s most versatile and unique compound, with an emphasis on engagement and critical thinking while emphatically celebrating life in the Great Lakes and our everlasting connection to water.

This activity is part of the City of Marquette's 2022 Art Week. For more information on Art Week, visit our Art Week homepage. For a full listing of this year's events, click here. Please note that event details are subject to change; online listings will be updated as necessary.

Art Week is made possible thanks to the support of the Michigan Arts & Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
