We invite community members to join us at the meeting and learn about the activities of the LWV.
A brief business meeting will be held and followed by a social meet-and-greet. Attendees can talk with local League members and enjoy a slice of pizza. League leaders will be available to talk about our voter guides, voter registration, observer corps, candidate forums, and other League projects.
The League has had a rich and long history in Marquette County. It started in 1968 with 46 members and provided voter and educational services to the community for 38 years. In 2017 a small group decided the time was right for the League to re-energize and begin its work again in Marquette County. Citizens are looking for reliable, accurate, fair and impartial information and that's what the League can provide. The LWV is a respected and trusted organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. League membership is open to all men and women 16 years of age and older. Currently, the membership fee is being waived for students.
