Art on the Rocks is presented by the Lake Superior Art Association. The Lake Superior Art Association (originally known as the Lake Superior Creative Arts Association) was established in 1951 by a group of local artists interested in forming a formal arts and crafts association. In 1959, led by LSAA member Anita Meyland, the Art on the Rocks Fine Art Show was established, deriving its name from the rocky hillside surrounding its original home - Father Marquette Park.

In (belated) celebration of the Lake Superior Art Association's 70-year anniversary of meaningful work in our creative community and beyond, join us on Friday, July 29 at Father Marquette Park for a special program! A free plein air painting session will be held from 2:00pm-4:30pm; artists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend and try their hand at painting the beautiful landscapes surrounding the park. Fresh Coast Plein Air painters will be on hand to assist and offer feedback. At 5:00pm, the completed paintings will be displayed, accompanied by a special reception and remarks commemorating the LSAA's anniversary.
