Deo Gallery December Exhibit - People, Secrets, and Snacks

Deo Gallery December Exhibit - People, Secrets, and Snacks

at City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center

People, Secrets, and Snacks is the December Exhibit in the Deo Gallery, featuring artist Emily Lanctot. All of the portraits in the exhibition celebrate people who identify as artists and art supporters. Paint is the chosen medium because of its long history and transformative nature. Paint provides opportunities to converse with the past while simultaneously capturing the contemporary moment to share with the future. People, Secrets, and Snacks is a collaborative effort of Emily Lanctot and Pearl (Mildred) Painter. Emily Lanctot lives and works in Marquette, MI, where she is the Director and Curator of Northern Michigan University’s DeVos Art Museum and a Contingent Associate Professor at NMU’s School of Art and Design.

People, Secrets, and Snacks will be on display in the Deo Gallery until January 1st, 2022. The Deo Gallery is a part of the City’s Arts & Culture Center located on the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. The exhibits are curated by Lake Superior Art Association and the gallery is managed by the Office of Arts and Culture. Questions about the Deo Gallery and this months exhibit can be directed to the Office (906)228-0472 or arts-culture@marquettemi.gov
