Join the City of Marquette Senior Center for weekly dance classes at the Marquette Arts & Culture Center!
The City of Marquette Senior Center and Office of Arts & Culture are excited to announce the return of Senior Dance Classes, taught by Senior Services Manager Maureen McFadden!
Classes will take place (almost) every Tuesday from 4:00pm-5:00pm at the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center, located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library.
These are beginner-level classes designed for folks who are looking for a fun and engaging, low-intensity workout with a variety of dance moves and techniques, including but not limited to Salsa, Jazz, Ballet, Ballroom and Hip Hop. All steps will be thoroughly described with ample practice time given between songs.
Students will learn a warmup, technique, and choreography!
Classes are free and open to City of Marquette, Marquette Township, Chocolay Township, and Powell Township residents ages 55+. No prior dance experience necessary, and you do not need a partner to attend.
Drop-ins welcome; pre-registration is not necessary.
No cost to attend for City or neighboring township residents. Prior to attending your first class, please pre-register with Tristan at tluoma@marquettemi.gov or (906) 225-8655 so we can get you added to our contact list in the event of cancellations or other updates.
