ART WEEK Marquette Symphony Orchestra Summer Strings: Reconnecting

ART WEEK Marquette Symphony Orchestra Summer Strings: Reconnecting

Presented by Marquette Symphony Orchestra at Presque Isle Bandshell

The Marquette Symphony Orchestra presents their third annual Summer Strings concert series with a performance at the Presque Isle Band Shell on Wednesday evening of Art Week! This concert is open to all ages and families are encouraged to attend. The Summer Strings are a small ensemble of string players from the MSO, formed in 2018 to give musicians the chance to perform in new public spaces, expand musical offerings, and continue the MSO’s season throughout the summer months.

Summer Strings performances are free to the public, though donations are appreciated.

The Marquette Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to create, provide, and promote professional performances of orchestral music through collaboration with residents and music educators of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The MSO provides five performances a year, in addition to outreach concerts at the Besse Center in Escanaba, an annual chamber music collage concert, a biannual concert for Marquette County students, and the Summer Strings concert series. Funding for the MSO is provided in part by the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Orchestra is an equal opportunity organization.
