ART WEEK Reuniting - Community Art Project

ART WEEK Reuniting - Community Art Project

Presented by Marquette Fringe at Ellwood A. Mattson Lower Harbor Park

Local artist Marlene Wood will be leading a special Art Week community art project as part of Marquette Fringe’s Reconnecting at Lower Harbor. Wooden cut-outs of people will be placed around the park – walking, talking, running, sitting, and out with their dogs – depicting the return of normalcy after more than a year of fear, sadness, and separation. The public is encouraged to come on down to help paint clothing on the wooden figures to gradually fill the park with color! Painting of the cut-outs will take place on Wednesday from 12:00pm-6:00pm, and again for youth in partnership with Carol Phillips of Liberty Children’s Art Project on Thursday from 1:00pm-3:00pm. We all look forward to the freedom of being able to “reunite”! A huge thank you to Eddie Wood and Justin Burton for their assistance cutting out the figures.Matt
