The Guest Chef Dinners at Zephyr are our chance to let the culinary talent of the UP take off. We let a chef take over our kitchen with creative abandon – and we get to pair wine, or other libations, with their vision. This May we are featuring Ryan Howe, who we recently hired to help run the Zephyr kitchen. Ryan was born in Michigamme and raised both there and in Negaunee. He learned to cook early on from his Italian mother and grandmother. He feels the most comfortable when he is cooking and his desire to feed people is strong. Ryan is a history buff as well. He likes that cooking classic, old-world recipes can connect a person to their heritage. Food and wine can, in a way, allow one to travel to new places and experience part of a culture.
His first kitchen jobs were at Upfront & Company and Border Grill. He's now a Sous Chef at Steinhaus and a brand new lead chef here at Zephyr.

Expect five courses representing a traditional feast after hunting, fishing and gathering in the foothills of the Alps.
