Come watch local comic artists as they unleash their creative powers on Marquette and challenge themselves to create 8 pages of comic art in 8 hours.
We were inspired to host a Comic Art Event after watching the DVD “24 Hour Comic” (2017 Milan Erceg Design, Inc.) and have taken ideas from other groups who have done similar “8-hour or “work day” length events.
The challenge is to create 8 pages of comic art in 8 continuous hours. That means everything: Story, finished art, lettering, color (if applicable). No sketches or designs or any other kind of direct preparation can be done prior to the event. Pages can be any size, any material, any medium. The 8 hours are continuous.
Artists will be working from 11am-7pm at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center (MACC) which is located in the lower level of the Peter White Library at 217 N. Front Street, Marquette, Michigan, in Studio #1. Work created during the event will be on display until July 27, 2019.

The public is welcome to view the artists at work from 11am-7pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
