Arbor Day Planting

Arbor Day Planting

Presented by Marquette Beautification & Restoration Committee at Father Marquette Park

A shagbark hickory, funded by a grant from the American Transmission Company, will be the first tree planted in the newly renovated park which will be dedicated on Sunday, July 15, at 2:00 P.M. followed by a community-wide celebration at 3:00 PM on the boardwalk below the Hampton Inn.  Paul Albert, City of Marquette Arborist, is orchestrating the planting and will be assisted by members of the Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee which is celebrating its 40th birthday. The committee played an important role many years ago advocating for a full time city arborist and Marquette has consistently been awarded the designation of Tree City USA due to the arborist's diligence and expertise.  Members of the community are cordially invited to attend the Arbor Day planting.
