U.P. 4-H Camp

Presented by Marquette County 4-H at Clear Lake Education Camp

The U.P. 4-H camp is a traditional camp program for campers ages 9 to 13 and junior counselors, ages 15 to 19. Campers stay in cabins with volunteer counselors for three days and take part in many outdoor activities throughout the weekend such as, swimming, low ropes course, capture the flag, canoeing, and many more exciting activities. The camp takes place at Clear Lake Education Center, south of Shingleton, MI.

Volunteer cabin counselors must be 21 years of age and complete the MSU Volunteer Selection Process whose duties would include rooming in a cabin with campers and one or two junior counselors, watching for signs of homesickness, understanding safety procedures, ensuring the inclusion of all campers and keep track of campers' locations. The position runs July 19-22 with the first day serving as training. Meals are included from lunch on July 20th to lunch on July 22nd.
