AAUW Book Sale Offers Book Bargains, Supports Scholarships

Presented by American Association of University Women (AAUW) at Unknown

From April 26 through 28, book lovers can find wonderful bargains while at the same time supporting scholarships for women.

These scholarships are offered by the Marquette Branch of the American Association of University Women. As NMU student Annika Wheeler, a 2017 scholarship winner, described, "With my scholarship, I could worry less about finances and more about my education. I also loved learning about AAUW and how much of an impact it makes on the community."

Funding for these scholarships comes from the AAUW's used book sale at Marquette's First Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Front and Bluff Streets.

To be first in line for the best of the books, come on Thursday, April 26, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with $5 admission fee. For a relaxing browse through the many thousands of books available, come on Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free admission. And for the best bargains of all, come on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. until noon for the $2/bag sale.

Until April 20, books to be donated for the sale may be dropped off at any of four Marquette locations: Marquette Community Credit Union, 1230 W. Washington; UP Medical Center, 1414 W. Fair (main entrance near information desk); River Valley Bank, 1101 N. Third; and the First Presbyterian Church (Bluff Street entrance.)

For more information, phone Jackie at 250-6170 or Pat at 250-5392.
