Laudate Dominum: Cantatas at the Cathedral

Laudate Dominum: Cantatas at the Cathedral

Presented by Marquette Choral Society at St. Peter Cathedral

Come enjoy two seasonal cantatas in Marquette's glorious St. Peter Cathedral. One, Benjamin Britten's St. Nicolas Cantata, relates the life and legends of St. Nicolas of Myra. The other, Arthur Honegger's Une Cantate de Noel, starts with Psalm 130's lament, "Out of the depths...," and then breaks into the joy of the Nativity with intertwined carols in French, German, and Latin.

This concert features not just the Marquette Choral Society, under the baton of Music Director Dr. Erin Colwitz, but also the Diocesan Children's Choir, along with tenor soloist Brian White and baritone soloist Wayne Hanmer, plus instrumentalists and organ.

Admission is free; a free-will offering will be gratefully accepted.
