Bluesday Tuesday--Flat Broke Blues Band

The Peter White Public Library and the Marquette Area Blues Society would like to invite music lovers to a special concert on the Front Street steps of the Peter White Public Library by the Flat Broke Blues Band on Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00 pm, part of our monthly Bluesday Tuesday series.

 

Marquette, Michigan based Flat Broke Blues Band has been playing clubs, festivals and concerts around the Upper Great Lakes region since 1994. The band currently features original members guitarist/vocalist Walt Lindala and bassist/vocalist Mark Johnson, along with guitarist/vocalist Mike Letts, drummer Jim Cohen and lead vocalist/harmonica player Lorrie Hayes.

Flat Broke Blues Band takes the influences of blues, rock, soul and R&B and creates a stage show filled with an entertaining and danceable mix of classics along with a variety of original songs that showcase the talents of all of the band members.

Over the years, Flat Broke Blues Band has shared the stage with several blues stars including Koko Taylor, Tab Benoit, Shemekia Copeland, Sean Costello, Billy Branch, Kenny Neal, Anthony Gomes, Biscuit Miller and Lonnie Brooks to name a few.

There is no admission charge to attend this event which is co-sponsored by the Marquette Area Blues Society and the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library.  Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather, but if it rains the concert will be in the Community Room.  Call 226-4318 or visit www.pwpl.info for more information.
