B.G. Bradley presents Winter Heart

Presented by Peter White Public Library at Peter White Public Library

The Peter White Public Library would like to invite the public to attend a presentation of B.G. Bradley’s book, Winter Heart, on Tuesday, August 22, at 7:00 pm in the library’s Shiras Room.

Winter Heart is the story of Ben O’Brian, a retired English professor and poet who, having lost his beloved wife to cancer several years before the opening of the story, finds himself alone with his beloved Labradors Tom and Huck in familiar territory on Hunter Lake, where his family has long resided and continues to reside. He claims to be looking for peace and quiet, but his younger sister, Jen, believes that’s the last thing he needs. Jen is seldom wrong.

B.G. Bradley is a native and lifelong resident of the Upper Peninsula. Born in Newberry, Bradley earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Communications at Olivet College, and a Master’s Degree in English at Northern Michigan University. He worked as a newspaper reporter for the Sault Evening News, The L’Anse Sentinel, and for the Marquette Mining Journal. His newspaper column for the Mining Journal and the Newberry News was a favorite among U.P. readers for over 20 years. He published work in Detroit Magazine, Lansing Magazine, Fox Cry, Sidewalks, Poetry in Performance, Mobius, and Michigan Out-of-Doors. He has taught English and drama for over 30 years in the central U.P. He has previously published two novels in serialized form in U.P. publications.
