Weeknight Concert--Wanda Degen's Dulcimer Days

Presented by Peter White Public Library at Peter White Public Library

Enjoy a weeknight concert with Wanda Degen at the Peter White Public Library on Monday, August 21, at 7:00 pm in the library’s community room.

Wanda Degen is a professional folk musician with over 35 years’ experience.  Born and raised in Montague Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan, she now calls the Lansing area her home.  Wanda is not just a performer, but she is a teacher as well, giving private lessons on the autoharp, mountain dulcimer, and hammer dulcimer and conducting workshops at many of Michigan’s traditional music festivals including Hiawatha Music Festival in Marquette, Midland Folk Festival in Midland, and the Original Dulcimer Players Club Fun Fest in Evart.

For this concert, Wanda will be performing Dulcimer Days, a blend of contemporary and traditional Celtic, Folk, Great Lakes and Vintage Pop music.  Playing a lively mix of songs and instrumental pieces interspersed with musical history, she likes to encourage audience participation with both sing-alongs and clap-alongs.

There is no admission charge to the attend the concert thanks to sponsorship by the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
