DIGS Chef Series 3: Professor Christopher Kibit

Professor Christopher Kibit has been at NMU since August of 2001, and is currently teaching in the growing hospitality and tourism program. Certified as a culinary educator by the American Culinary Federation and as a hopsitality educator by the American Hotel and Lodging Association Education Foundation, he has been teaching at various educational levels since 1990. His experience doesn't end there: he's banked up over 40 years with different hospitality organizatins ranging from quick-service restaruants to country-clubs, national hotel chains, convention centers, and as the personal chef for three Presidents of a Big Ten University.

Chef Kibit brings those experiences into both the lab and lecture classeshe teaches; classes that four of the owners and managers of DIGS Gastropub have all taken. Chef is able to help students apply the necessary skills and knowledge to advance in their careers. He regularly attends regional and national industry conventions and seminars to network with industry professionals, and to remain current regarding skills and knowledge. Chef Kibit was a semi-finalist for a national lifetime achievement award in 2016, and is the current President of the UP chapter of the American Culinary Federation.

Chef Kibit has prepared a menu he has named "Classic's Revisited" - an owed to dishes that represent his past experience.

Tickets are $60 and include a six course meal, and 3 beverage pairings.
Cocktail Hour beigns at 5:30 and is not mandatory.
Dinner begins at 6:30 sharp.
