On Thursday August 3, at 12:30 pm, the Peter White Public Library will show the 2016 film, Midnight Special, in the library’s community room as part of its Matinee Movie series.  Bring your own lunch and enjoy the movie in a dinner theater setting.  Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.

Alton Meyer, a young boy with special powers, is worshipped by a religious cult.  When Alton’s father Roy succeeds in rescuing him from the cult, he finds himself pursued not only by them but also by the National Security Agency of the US government.    Will Roy and his son be able to escape and have a normal family life?  And where will these powers lead them?  Starring Michael Shannon, Joel Edgerton and Kirsten Dunst, this sci-fi mystery is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour 52 minutes.
