The Lake Superior Art Association’s July exhibit features work by Kathleen Mooney. Join us for a reception on July 18 from 3-6 p.m.
The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center announces its July LSAA Gallery exhibition: “Orkney Inspirations – Scotland” by Kathleen Mooney. The 28 acrylic and water media paintings in this show are abstract landscapes of the islands of Orkney, Scotland. The art and archaeology from the islands of north Atlantic Europe have been the artist’s principal inspiration for the last two decades. A special feature of this exhibit is free verse poetry that responds to the World Heritage Neolithic sites of Orkney. Mooney’s paintings are exhibited in national and international art competitions, cultural centers, and museums.
The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center is in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. For more information or questions, please contact (906) 228-0472 or email arts-culture@mqtcty.org.
