Italian Fest 2017

Italian Fest 2017

Presented by St. Rocco - St. Anthony Society of Ishpeming at Al Quaal Recreation Area

Although this event is a way for Italian-Americans to follow the Italian tradition of honoring St. Rocco and St. Anthony, it is also a time for all of us to enjoy food, music and family.

The 118th Italian Fest is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the Al Quaal Recreation Area with a day-long picnic.  There is no admission fee and many of the children's activities are offered free of charge.

Visitors can once again enjoy homemade Italian food cooked by the Valela family which is to be sold at the society's food booth.  In addition, various vendors will be serving cudighis, Italian sandwiches, hot dogs, sno cones, ice cream novelties and much more.

Other highlights of Italian Fest include bingo, a greased pole ($100 prize), free pony rides, a large glide slide, kid's obstacle course, children's games, games of chance and several arts & crafts vendors.

Our musical entertainment for 2017 has not yet been confirmed.  A tentative schedule is as follows:   At 2:00 p.m. Soundz of Time with Jan and Gino will perform on stage until 4:00 p.m.  At 4:30 p.m. the Ishpeming Blue Notes, a local drum and bugle corps will play.  From 5:00-7:00 p.m.  the Diamanti band of Chicago, Illinois will perform classic contemporary Italian and American music.

We hope to see you there!
