Pacifist Desmond T. Dross enlists as a medic in WWII.
Peter White Public Library invites film fans to enjoy a bring your own dinner film event on Tuesday July 11, for a screening of Hacksaw Ridge at 6:00 pm in the library’s community room.
Winning two Oscars and the AFI award for movie of the year, Hacksaw Ridge tells the story of pacifist Desmond T. Dross, who enlists as an army medic during WWII. Based on a true story, he was the first man to receive a medal of honor without firing a shot. Starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, and Luck Bracey, and directed by Mel Gibson, this 2016 historical drama, is rated R and runs 2 hours and 19 minutes.
