Join us at Marquette Regional History Center for the Art Week Art Stroll Thursday, June 29th at 7PM and an Ekphrasis* Writing Workshop on June 30th. * Ekphrasis – from the Greek the oldest type of writing about art
Meet as a group on Thursday at the MRHC, we will stroll downtown Marquette and view local art. Friday from 3-4PM, Dr. Lynn Domina, Chair of the NMU Dept. of English will teach us how to write about art that inspired us. Preregister with Janeen Rastall (janeenrastall@yahoo) and get a gift bag on Thursday night. Suggested donation is $8. All proceeds go to the MRHC.
Lynn Domina is the author of two collections of poetry, Corporal Works and Framed in Silence, and the editor of a collection of essays, Poets on the Psalms. Her work appears in The Southern Review, The Massachusetts Review, Arts & Letters, The Gettysburg Review, Poetry Daily, and many other periodicals. She serves as Head of the English Department at Northern Michigan University.
