Madeline Goodman is a metalsmith artist, handcrafting organic jewelry from nature molds to lost wax casting and resin. Each piece is unique and inspired by the beautiful Great Lakes, Huron Mountains, and local hiking spots – Harlow Lake, Song Bird Trail, and Wetmore Landing. Madeline uses organic materials to represent nature within her jewelry, specifically displayed in this exhibit, “A Walk Through Nature.”

With a BFA in Metals, Goodman has carried her skills and love for nature into her business, MadGoodies Studio. With her involvement in many different art programs and groups, the collaboration with creatives and their stories brings inspiration and life to her work. Throughout her practice, improving her skills in metalwork has greatly improved her pieces, yet her imperfections and flaws are what bring beauty to her unique creations.

Although one might find Goodman in a fight with a hot glue gun or underestimating how long something will take, her perseverance through the challenges of her artistry and learning from each mistake is what makes each piece incredibly special.

“The overall theme of my pieces is how I can change nature into art. From lost wax casting to living jewelry, each has its own beauty. It is very important to appreciate the little things in life and the uniqueness of nature and yourself.”
