Executive Director Position Announcement

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Executive Director of the Superior Arts Youth Theater. Serve as the chief producer/director/administrator of a well established and successful youth theater program in Marquette, Michigan. This position involves production and administrative aspects of the program, with duties including producing, facilitating, managing, and marketing performances as well as providing vision and leadership, and maintaining day-to-day operations including planning/scheduling, public relations/promotions, grant writing, fund-raising, personnel supervision and financial management.

The Executive Director reports directly to the SAYT Board of Directors. Anticipated start date is June 1, 2023. Along with this position SAYT is hiring a part time Artistic Director to work under the supervision of the Executive Director. The Artistic Director’s duties are to maintain artistic vision, mission, and goals of SAYT on all productions, including productions that are in collaboration with other community organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate degree; experience in business, non-profit management, or theatre arts management preferred; prior theatre experience; ability to calmly and effectively address changing priorities and multiple demands; have good MS Office skills and Social Media skills; be comfortable interacting with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders; have the desire and ability to provide every youth, staff member, donor, board member with a positive experience; have the desire to work in an energetic and collaborative environment.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience (up to $40,000). A two-week paid vacation is included. No retirement plan or health care benefits are included.
