Art on the Mountain

September 11-12, 2021
Marquette Mountain Resort, Marquette, MI

Art on the Rocks is partnering with Marquette Mountain Resort, Lake Superior Art Association, and the City of Marquette Office of Arts & Culture for the first ever Art on the Mountain!

Art on the Mountain will include an art fair, art activities and face painting for kids, plein air painting excursion and exhibit, an art auction to benefit Lake Superior Art Association, live music and dancing in the evenings, food trucks, and more! In addition, Marquette Mountain Resort will have an active chairlift to bring patrons to the top of the Mountain to enjoy one of the best views in Marquette and hike or bike down.

The weekend will conclude with the 24th Annual City of Marquette Art Awards ceremony and reception, a formal affair honoring individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to arts and culture in Marquette.

Marquette Mountain Resort will have a full-service bar for artists and patrons, with indoor seating and outdoor picnic tables alongside fire pits.

Art on the Mountain Art Fair

 

The Art on the Mountain Art Fair will be held on Saturday, September 11 from 11:00am-6:00pm and Sunday, September 12 from 11:00am-4:00pm. Artists will also have the option of keeping their booth open on Saturday evening to show and sell work during live music.

Interested artists should apply by August 22, 2021.

This is a juried art fair. Entry fees and images of your work will be due with your application by the August 22 deadline. Entry fees will not be deposited until notified acceptance following the deadline, and declined artists will have their checks returned, or be refunded if paying via PayPal.

Entry fees are as follows:

  • 12′ x 12′ Outdoor Site:  $60.00
    • For artists with their own canopy tent/formal art fair booth setup; tents and tables NOT provided
  • 10′ x 10′ Outdoor Site under a 40′ x 40′ tent:  $70.00
    • For table/screen/grid displays; tables available for rent upon request
  • 10′ x 10′ Indoor Site:  $80.00
    • For table/screen/grid displays; tables available for rent upon request
  • Table rental:  $10.00
    • For use with 10′ x 10′ sites
