City of Marquette Presents Art Week 2022 Cover Art Contest

A public contest for cover art for the City of Marquette Art Week 2022 Booklet. Submit your artwork to be featured on the cover of this year's Art Week event booklet. All submissions will be uploaded as a virtual exhibit hosted on the MQTcompass website and winning art will be chosen by popular choice.

MISSION: The mission of Art Week is to build and empower a vibrant community through the arts through facilitating partnerships, empowering and showcasing our creative community, and enhancing and expanding audience engagement.

2022 Theme: Water is the very essence of life, It ebbs and flows throughout our consciousness and yet it is the most essential element of our past, our present, and our future. What does water inspire in you?

This theme was inspired by the City’s upcoming Cultural Trail initiative, which has helped define the daily venues for Art Week as public spaces along our shoreline. The Cultural Trail will celebrate Marquette’s cultural heritage and natural environment connecting historic and culturally significant locations and natural features along the City’s multi-use pathway through public art, space design, and interpretive signage. Art Week will feature projects that explore the shoreline, its history, and spectacular landscape from the Carp River to Presque Isle.
