Throughout this 4 week course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of wedging, centering, pulling up walls, trimming and glazing on the pottery wheel. Each student will receive individualized instructions according to their interests and experience – all experience levels welcome!
During your sessions, you’ll get a chance to learn about creating different forms, from basic cylinders to pieces that you throw and then alter – like pouring vessels, lids, handles, and more!
By the end of the session, you’ll have a great understanding of how to create pieces in your own style and feel confident to start creating on your own during walk-in hours.
This class is geared towards adult students 18+. Elementary students will have a more difficult time, but we can accommodate interested middle/high school students.
Each 6-week session registration includes 2 hours/week of instructional time, as well as additional time outside of class hours to work on projects. Your registration covers all fees necessary to complete up to 6 projects, including glazing and firing.
COVID Requirements;
Masks are required OVER THE NOSE and mouth at all times during class sessions. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please wait for the next session if you or someone you have been in close contact with has been diagnosed with Covid in the past 10 days. If you find that you have been in contact while the class is in session, please let us know and we will gladly fit you into a makeup session at a later date.
Effort will be made to spread students out, but it may not be possible to maintain social distancing at all times.
Individuals are encouraged to let us know if you prefer private 4-week session. Private sessions can be scheduled for family/friend groups of 4-6. Contact us directly at clayworks@hotplatepottery.com with your preferred day/time and we will get back to you.
