The Marquette Regional History Center Presents:
Sugar Loaf Bart King Monument Centennial

Back in the late fall of 1921, a group of community members and Boy Scouts
finished a stone monument on the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. This monument
stands today, 100 years later, to recognize a WWI soldier from Marquette, Bart
King. We will commemorate his life and sacrifice during WWI along with the
volunteers who built this monument. This included stone mason Harmidas Dupras,
